grub2 ,flash crash & supergrub

So i got this bright idea i would reinstall win xp . I figures as usual i would lose grub. I figured no biggie. Boy was i wrong . I can fix either windows or grub not both. the guys at kubuntu forums have been great. I however know im gonna have to wipe the drive install on older version of kubuntu. I say this because all super grub can do is either fix windows or fix grub . the config file in linux says it sees windows. It just doesn't show up in the grub loader. SO ill keep you posted off to work i go :-)

Its Karmic

Well I can say i am very happy with the final release of kunbuntu 9.10 also known as karmic koala. No install issues at all. The only minor detail that bothers me with new kde is that the default kdm tries to appear for 1 sec or so. Then it will default to your choice. For some reason the latest version of flash is blocked . Since the new version of flash crashed any of my win browsers . That may be why. Story writing is going well too :-)

Busy with writing a story

As a Christan i know the end times prophecy well . I must finish the ship of light story .on my opthe blog. The videos i am seeing about the Copenhagen treaty . Have my proprieties in check. This means i won't make a lot of art work until the ship of light is finished. I don't have time. I will likely have the ship of light story done in a few weeks. I have to keep an eye out. Linnking and kpackage kit issues.

Well i have been busy . I am running the beta of Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala . I saw i was ready for an update . More like 205 updates. so i tried using kpackage kit. When this didn't work i sued the terminal to put in the sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade . then i learn a whole new command sudo apt-get clean . Thanks to my friends at Kunbuntu forums I was able to fix the issue. It turns out it was an open office issue. Once i installed open office by it self . That fixed it. I also made a new splash screen Kunbuntu Basic Splash. I made a matching KDM as well Kunbuntu Basic KDM So then i got started picking up a story i started in 2007. I put a link here to all my others blogs and they are now all cross linked . Well i gotta scoot work calls yet again :-)

Karmic Koala Beta

Well it went in the second time rather well. I see where the folks at kde look put there on spin on oxy-air themes . Since i have 34 of my own home made kdms and 44 of my own splash screens i have quite the custom kubuntu. I am sure for most folks just upgrading was ok. Looks like my Kubuntu had issues already. With a clean install all sound issues went away. I have my Firefox profile saved elsewhere anyways. I like the look its nice and clean. Torcs and super tux car would not install but other wise smooth sailing for when the final release comes out. At the end of the month.

Backgammon

Well made a backgammon kdm. and a backgammon splash screen hope they are enjoyed. I play at fibs.com . I had been playing when i got that idea. I tried a dvd movie player called vlan. it might work very well. it turns out the dvd reader i had can't read anything and is broken. It was given to me second hand it was only a single layer player anyway. So I'm off to more tinkering around. One of these days mepis will come standard with kde 4 . Which will make staying with kubuntu hard. I however am looking forward to karmic koala.

sounds and stuff

well i was pondering other day about why some of my windows wavs. sound horrible in linux. It turns out they were so old that some of the bit rates were bad. Sounds were OK in mplayer for linux just didn't sound good in amarok. I posted a new couple of screens on Kde-look. So ill keep plodding around waiting for next version of Kubuntu as well.
